Additional Resources for Immediate Need

Here are just a few organizations that I have found my clients and friends have benefited from when faced with an unexpected labor.

Return to Zero

RTZ HOPE supports families who have experienced miscarriage, termination for medical reasons (TFMR), other types of pregnancy loss (ectopic pregnancy, blighted ovum, molar pregnancy), neonatal death, infant death, and toddler death.

A personal note from Teresa: “This website holds a wealth of information for all families, all losses, in all circumstances. No matter where you are with your loss, this is an incredible resource.”

Dakota Lee Foundation (Local to O‘ahu)

Giving support to families who have suffered a perinatal loss by providing resources, making bereavement care packages for hospitals and clinics, and assisting with funeral costs when funds are available.

A personal note from Teresa: “The Dakota Lee Foundation recognizes the lack of immediate information, care, and support when a miscarriage occurs. By providing ‘care packages’ to families, the understanding that you are not alone is a needed recognition.”

Carrying to Term

Carrying To Term is dedicated to providing non-directive information on pregnancy continuation for prenatal diagnoses of life-limiting conditions.

A personal note from Teresa: “Carrying to Term has a wonderful glossary explaining diagnosis and terminology. Even if you are not choosing to continue your pregnancy, this is a wonderful glossary for reference.”

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep

The Mission of NILMDTS is to introduce remembrance photography to parents suffering the loss of a baby with a free gift of professional portraiture.

A personal note from Teresa: “It is a good idea to ask hospital staff to request a Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Photographer; however, should no Photographer be available, it is likely the staff has a camera available. The linked guide is a great way for them to reference.”
